Exotic, not extravagant.

Titanium was chosen for its durability and resistance to scratches and dings. It offered the right balance of strength, durability, comfort, and simple good looks. Naked ti means no paint to chip and no rust. Our bikes come standard with our special brushed finish which allows you to bring back that new bike shine with a light scouring pad from the kitchen.

Surprisingly, metal was not the optimal material for the drivetrain. A carbon-fiber reinforced polymer belt was. Without stretching like a metal chain, and engaging completely with the cogs meant direct transfer of energy and no “play” in the system. This also meant no adjusting to retighten the chain, and no need to constantly degrease, clean, and regrease the system.

When it comes to the wheels, stainless steel is real. Each wheel is hand spun on Velocity rims and matched with high-grade handmade tires. No machine-built throw-away wheelsets here.

Bamboo handlebars, an f8 classic, are available on request. Bamboo was chosen for its natural strength, vibration dampening, and sound good looks. Handmade wood handlebars are also offered on our bikes, for a classic look and springy comfort. And good old fashioned titanium bars are recommended as well, each hand made.

With f8, you get a utilitarian bike that just happens to be lightweight and beautiful.
